Hedkandi World Series Tour
2 Deans are better than 1
Friday July 24th

The last stop of Hed Kandi’s inaugural tour of Thailand brings them back to Q Bar where it all started! A very special night with 2 of Hed Kandi’s rising stars on display. On the decks will be former Def Jam and Sony/BMG in house DJ, Dean Rigg. Having cut his teeth DJing hip hop, funk, and soul for powerhouse record labels, Dean eventually combined his skills as a hip hop DJ with the 4 to the floor house beats he originally loved, creating a truly unique style and making him one of Hed Kandi’s most in demand DJ’s and producers. Performing alongside Dean will be another Dean, Dean Oram. Having been discovered by Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay and mentored by their master percussionist Sola Akingbola, Dean quickly rose to become one of the world’s most sought after percussionists with a decidedly Latin/Brazilian flair. Hed Kandi at Q Bar, easily the hottest ticket in town. Don’t miss it!
the DJ
Dean Rigg
Even from the age of fifteen, where Dean would skip class to play a multitude of instruments for studio sessions, music was always on the mind and agenda of one of Hed Kandi’s youngest DJs, Dean Rigg.
After taking to the decks at seventeen he span on the North East’s club circuit spinning hip hop, soul and rare groove, eventually changing his style to incorporate the four-to-the-floor beats of house when he decided that the skill elements of hip hop DJing could be applied to house music to create his own unique style. Numerous gigs in Ibiza and Brazil, tours of the Middle East, Russia and throughout Europe affirmed his career of choice and after meeting Hed Kandi A&R director in 2006 he was brought onto the Hed Kandi DJ roster.
Since then he has represented Hed Kandi in Japan, China, Egypt, South America, the Caribbean and many other locations. He also continues his production work having recently recorded guitar for a remix of the classic anthem Show Me Love by Robin S, featured recently on Hed Kandi’s Disco Heaven album as well as remixing Jody Wisternoff’s Starstrings alongside Hed Kandi’s Chris Bailey.
Dean’s schedule sees him playing out up to three times a week, spending lots of time in the studio and putting together Hed Kandi’s albums keeping him very busy for the world’s best-loved record label.
Live Percussion
Dean Oram
AKA ‘Deano On Percussion’ can often be found at Hed Kandi events heightening the momentum with contemporary rhythms & fills using three congas, two sets of bongos, cymbals, cow bells and blocks. Dean’s sheer energy, coupled with his unmoved passion for house music, has constantly enticed crowds.
Dean studied at London’s prestigious drumtech academy. His talent was recognised by recording artist Jamiroquai who introduced him to Sola Akingbola, one of the Jamiroquai band members. Dean performed at numerous parties all over the world and recorded with major artists at London’s famous Abbey Road Studios.
With a love of house music Dean decided to concentrate on the live element alongside DJs and producers which saw him introduced to the Hed Kandi family in 2008.
